Agency will run on a blockchain-based system

The government of Malta has launched new offices of the Malta Business Registry. The offices will be located in Zejtun. The agency will be unique in that it will be run by a blockchain-based system aimed at serving clients and investors more efficiently.

The inauguration was attended by the Prime Minister of Malta, the Hon. Joseph Muscat and Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation Silvio Schembri.

The move follows a recent announcement to reform the rent industry by implementing a new system that will see all rental contracts registered on a distributed ledger.
