Yoshihide Suga is one of the potential candidates to succeed Shinzo Abe as prime minister and is widely considered by many to be the no.1 candidate
The current Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, who is running for the Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, said that he believes the development of Japan's first integrated resort will be "critical" to promote Japan's tourism industry. Yoshihide Suga is currently a popular candidate for the next prime minister of Japan.
Last Saturday, Yoshihide Suga went live on TV in Japan to build his momentum for the coming election. He said: "I believe this Integrated Resort will play a key factor in our tourism industry and travel promotion policy."
This speech shows its support for the outgoing Prime Minister Shinzo Abe‘s immigration policy. Shinzo Abe has announced his resignation on August 28.
While explaining his views on the IR project,, Yoshihide Suga said: "People in Japan often only see an IR as part of a casino, but the fact that the government in Japan will promote the entire correlated industry including hotels and other entertainment facilities, where tourists can take their families to participate will surely help."
Internally Yoshihide Suga also told the Liberal Democratic Party members on Saturday: "We must prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, protect people's lives and livelihoods, and build a society that strikes a balance between health and economic activities."
Yoshihide Suga is one of the potential candidates to succeed Shinzo Abe as prime minister and is widely considered by many to be the no.1 candidate, he is one of the three candidates to replace Shinzo Abe. The other two are Ishiba Shigeru and Fumio Kishida.
