On the 3rd of April, Malta will host the global adventure challenge that is XTERRA, an event supported by SiGMA.
We all love a challenge, but sometimes it’s inconvenient to travel, or to organise ourselves in order to get like-minded people together for a bit of outdoor fun. XTERRA is held in the gorgeous Majjistral Park near the Golden Sands Radisson Blu, and attracts over 150 foreign participants from all walks of life. Professionals battle for the $7,500 prize money but most take part for the sheer experience of completing this amazing challenge.
It’s not even need to be a triathlete to take part. The organisers are keen to see corporate teams form relay squads to take part in the 1.5km swim, 30km mountain bike and 10km trail run. Those that want to take on the challenge individually also have the option of a half-distance ‘sprint’ event if the full distance seems too daunting. The challenge is followed by plenty of beer and food at the Resort, and a great atmosphere surrounds this unique event for Malta.
