Sports betting revenue doubles in New York amidst pandemic

New York sport betting revenue doubles this November following years of consecutive rise

Back in November 2019 the total revenue of sportsbetting ammounted to $1.3m, and this year, it doubled to a staggering $2.6m. The incredible rise in revenue seems to be mostly attributed to the new way of life imposed by the pandemic where players naturally and clearly had more time and space of mind to indugle in some gaming.

As usual Rush Street's Rivers Casino and Resort continue to lead the New York market with $1.1m in sports betting revenue; a total increase of 91.2% from 2019.

In a recent statement, New York governer Andre Cuomo emphasised on the great benefits sports revenue could have for the East-coast state, and this is quite a considerable moment because CUomo previously opposed sportsbetting due to the fact that he believed it would require a constitutional alteration, and him mentioning it as an example of state-income is definitely a good sign.
